EPHA Awarded by the Tigray Regional State


TThe Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) has been awarded certificate of appreciation and a trophy depicting the Martyr's of Memorial Monument found in Mekele town in recognition of the valuable contributions the Association has made to the regional health bureau of Tigray and the health sector development of the region as a whole and for working with the people and government of Tigray in an effort to meet the Millennium Development Goals. 
 
The award was handed over to EPHA by His Excellency Ato Abay Weldu, President of the Tigray regional state on the occasion of the Health Professionals Festival held on the 4th of April 2013, in Mekele. Ato Ali Beyene, Director for Member Affairs and Networking of EPHA received the award and certificate of appreciation on behalf of EPHA.   

Call for Abstract 


The FMOH is going to host the third IFPC from November 12-15, 2013 In Addis Ababa. Pursuant of this, the ministry has established a national steering committee and subcommittees. Among the subcommittees, the Scientific, Exhibition and schedule preparation is one of them. This subcommittee has three working groups of which Scientific peer review working group is one of them.

The SPR working group has taken as an initiative to mentor national abstracts through an anonym zed emails till April 15. The deadline for abstract submission of the IFPC is 1st of May 2013.

EPHA’s Bylaw Amended

 
The amended bylaw of the Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) become official for members of the Association during the 24th Annual meeting held this year and endorsed by the general assembly with 219 supports, 0 refusals, 8 abstains. The amendment is aimed at realigning the Association with the new legal frame work introduced in the country under the Charities and Societies Agency which has bestowed with the authority to regulate charities and civil society organizations operating in the county. 
 
According to the new bylaw, the fiscal year of EPHA is amended from the Ethiopian fiscal calendar to the Gregorian fiscal year, i.e from August 1-July 31 to January1- December 31.
