The program is a two-year Masters level competency-based training package in Applied Epidemiology and Public Health.
EFETP aims at training professionals who are responsible to build the Ethiopian public health capacity through strengthening the surveillance system as well as outbreak investigation and early response system of the country.
Since the launch of the program in 2009, a total of 81 health professionals have been graduated.
The training program is implemented in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH), Addis Ababa University’s School of Public Health (AAU-SPH), the Ethiopia Public Health Association (EPHA) and Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
