EPHA Formed Regional Chapter in SNNPR


EPHA has facilitated the formation of regional chapter in the Southern Nations and Nationalities Peoples Region where seven executive members have been elected to lead the regional office for two years office term. The election of the executive members was taken place on the 7th of April 2013 immediately following the conclusion of a training program on leadership and communication, organized for members of the association in the region. Accordingly, Ato Yusuf Abdu (Hawassa Health Science College), Ato Alemayehu Bekele (Arbaminch University), Ato Ayalew Astatike (Hawassa University) and W/ro Yemisirach Shiferaw (Hawasa Health Science College) have been elected as President, Vice-president, Secretary General and Treasurer of the executive office respectively.



The remaining executive members who were voted for, to serve the office are Ato Estifanos Geribo and Ato Getachew Assefa, from the regional health bureau and Ato Mekonnen Berihanu from Dilla University.

Hence, the training organized in Hawassa by Members Affairs and Networking department and lasted from April 5 to 7, 2013, ended up by electing executive members of EPHA’s regional chapter in SNNPR.

The training is provided as part of the members’ capacity building program, focusing on topics related to leadership, shared vision, and team building and communication, and fundamental interpersonal relationship orientation behavior (FIRO-B).

A total of 27 members, who were drawn from Hawassa, Arbaminch, Wolayita, Hosahina, Welkite, and Butajira attended the training on leadership and communication.
