The involvement of each one of us is decisive in doing away with psychological, social, economical and health problems of hearing impaired, underscored EPHA (10 October 2012, Addis Ababa)


In opening the Anti-HIV/AIDS peer training program, Ato Hailegnaw Eshete, Executive Director the Ethiopian Public Health Association remarked that it is plain to all of us that encouraging results are being achieved to improve the life of the hearing impaired.

With a current membership 4500, EPHA, one of the largest and most prominent health professionals Association in Ethiopia, is engaged in enhancing the standard of public health services of the country.  

Very recently, the association in collaboration with the World Federation of Public Health Association (WFPHA) successfully hosted the 13th World Congress on Public Health. This shows that the contributions of the association are gaining the recognition and appreciation in the global health field.  

The Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) delegate shared experience with Botsawa Ministry of Health on Alcohol policy development and implementation (4 September 2011, Botswana)


The Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) delegate met with Botswana ministry of health’s department of public health, alcohol and other psychotropic substances. The EPHA delegate was represented by Ato Derejie Seyoum, Project Director and Ato Solomon Abebe, communication and information coordinator of the association.
 
During its stay in Botswana the delegate visited government and non-government organizations working on alcohol and other substances. The delegate also visited and exchanged views with Botswana rehabilitation centers.

The African Federation of Public Health Association (AFPHA) was officially launched with the vision of healthy and productive population in Africa at a Special Session of the WHO Regional Committee Meeting on Wednesday 31st August 2011 in Yamoussoukro, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.


AFPHA was launched during the 61st Session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee Meeting for Africa held from 29 August to 02 September 2011 in Yamoussoukro, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire. The inaugural meeting of the AFPHA was attended by representatives of national African Public Health Associations from 27 countries and the President of the World Federation of Public Health Associations.
