JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. JOB SUMMARY

The Members and Chapters Affairs & Networking Director is responsible for membership development, strengthening EPHA chapters and networking with likeminded national and international associations, governmental, civil societies and universities, mobilize resources to ensure sustainable funding (Fund Mobilization) planning and organizing.  S/he develops work strategy and systems to strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of chapters, members’ affairs and networking of EPHA with national, regional and international health associations, institutions and collaborators..

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Job Responsibility #1: Members’ Affairs

  • Develops guidelines for agitating health professionals to become members of EPHA and register those who are willing to be members.
  • Encourage members to pay their  membership fees on time;
  • Coordinates annual conferences as per the directions of the Executive Director;
  • Evaluates the process of conferences, records suggestions of the General Assembly;
  • Prepares and reports on conferences to the Executive Director;
  • Ensures up-dated  list of members is maintained;
  • Organizes training programs, workshops, conferences to build the capacity of members;
  • Work with concerned units to increase income generated from internal and external sources;
  • Keeps statistics of active and non-active members.

 

Job Responsibility #2: Chapters

  • Prepares guidelines for strengthening the Chapters;
  • Coordinate, motivate, support and strengthen EPHA Chapters;
  • Supports and makes follows upon the activities chapters;
  • Supports the Chapters in recruit new members;
  • Makes cloth supervision that Chapters collect fees from members on time;
  • Ensures that Chapters distributes EPHA’s publications to members, educational institutions, health centers and others identified by EPHA on time;
  • Visits Chapters’ sites

 

Job Responsibility #3: Networking,

  • Strengthen EPHA’s capacity to develop and maintain effective partnership and working relationships with its key government and other stakeholders and counterparts.
  • Develops on-going relationships with the media and create appropriate means of informing the public;
  • Attends relevant meetings and conferences to keep informed about current trends, issues, and methods of implementing networking;
  • Promotes partnership and collaboration with national, regional and global entities working on public health;
  • Maintains database of national, regional and international health associations and collaborators.

 

Job Responsibility #4:  Staff Management:

  • Supervises, leads, guides and supports staff responsible to her/him;
  • Completes all performance management activities including: performance planning, monitoring, and annual performance appraisals.

 

Job Responsibility #5: Others

  • Performs other related duties assigned by the ED.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/TRANINING

  • MPH/MSc/MBA in Health, Management or related.

EXPERIENCE

  • Ten years relevant work experience. Civil societies experience is desirable.

TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS

  • Ability to provide leadership, communicate effectively, and promote a team approach to enhance staff commitment to successfully implement EPHA’s Strategic Plan;
  • Demonstrated technical and managerial ability, sound judgment, ability to interact and work effectively with others at all levels;
  • Good knowledge of public health developments and issues;
  • Good interpersonal communication skill and ability to effectively liaise with government, community leaders and other stakeholders
