35th EPHA Annual Conference Documentations




Press conference about the upcoming conference has been held on 12th March 2024 at Elilly International Hotel in Addis Ababa.
Different Media outlets attended the press conference which deals about the Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) 35th Annual Conference and Meeting to be convened from 17 to 19 March 2024 in Addis Ababa, Inter luxury Hotel.

The main theme of the conference is:
“Universal Health Coverage” with three sub-themes:
1. New dimensions of revitalizing primary health care in Ethiopia
2. Best models for the integration of One Health to Universal Health Coverage
3. Current trends and future dimensions of Health workforce training, protection and motivation in Ethiopia.

The press conference stated that the main and subtheme themes will be discussed through panel discussions, oral and poster presentations, and concurrent sessions.

About 1,000 participants from various sites including universities; invited guests, advocates, researchers, health professionals, EPHA members, and other stakeholders from all over the country and abroad are expected to attend this conference and discuss on public health issues.

EPHA conducted a midterm validation workshop.

The Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) conducted a validation workshop on the mid-term review of its 4th strategic plan which spans from 2017 to 2026 at Inter Luxury Hotel, Addis Ababa on 30 January 2024.

The objective of the workshop was to present key findings of the midterm review of the strategic plan and gathering feedbacks from participants that would serve as inputs for the next five years of the plan period.

The Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) with financial support from the David & Lucile Packard Foundation Provides medical equipment to 5 conflict-affected hospitals in the Tigray region.

On the handover occasion held on 3 January 2024 in Mekelle at Zemarias Hotel, the Executive Director of EPHA Dr. Alemayehu Mekonnen stated that a variety of medical equipment worth ETB 6 million has been supported to highly affected areas.

He added that a few months ago, a team from EPHA was sent to the region for a quick assessment of urgent needs, and with the help of the Tigray Health Bureau 5 hospitals namely; Adiadero; Selehleha, Endabaguna, MayAyni and Suhul were selected. Based on the assessment EPHA provided medical equipment which are vital to address maternal and children's health.
