![]() Children categoriesTeam pays visit to FP projects in Jimma zoneA team composed of delegates from the Ethiopian Public Health Association, Packard Foundation, Oromia regional health bureau, Jimma zonal health bureau and focal persons from other partners made a field visit to selected sites in Jimma zone from February 26-27, 2015. EPHA in collaboration with Jimma Zone health department selected Buture health post in Mana woreda, which is 15 km away from Jimma town for the site visit. The objectives of the field visit include, among others, looking over the family planning service provision at a health post and community level, observing the working modality and system regarding health extension program, sharing the experience of health extension workers (HEWs) and discussing with the beneficiaries of the family planning service and with women development army.
EPHA presents progress of Packard-funded RH/FP project
The progress of the project entitled “Expanding Long Acting Family Planning in Ethiopia” was presented at the meeting by Ato Tesfa Demelw, Director of Research, Training and Publications Department with EPHA. 20 LSI Trainees GraduatedTwenty health professionals trained for six months in Leadership in Strategic Information (LSI) by the Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) in collaboration with the University of Gondar were graduated on March 14, 2015 in Gondar town.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Dr. Abebaw Gebeyehu, Institute of Public Health Director with the University of Gondar, noted that the fundamental aim of the training is to equip trainees with the necessary knowledge and skills of making evidence-based decisions in their day-to-day health related activities. EPHA to hold 26th Annual Conference in Bahir DarThe Ethiopian Public Health Association (EPHA) will convene its 26th Annual Meeting and Conference at the Amhara Regional State Council Hall in Bahir Dar town from February 26-28, 2015. The main theme of this year’s conference is “Health System and Sustainable Development: Health System Visioning 2035. A total of 148 oral and 254 poster presentations will be delivered at the conference, which is to be organized in collaboration with Bahir Dar University and Amhara Regional Health Bureau. The pre-conference session and the official opening ceremony will be held on February 25, 2015. More than 1,000 members of the Association, researchers from various disciplines and invited guests are expected to attend the Conference. |
