CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD)

WHAT IS CPD?

“Continuing Professional Development” shall mean a range of learning activities through which health professionals maintain, update, and develop their knowledge, skills, and attitudes, throughout their career, to ensure that they retain their capacity to practice safely, effectively, and legally within their scope.

It is a broad concept referring to the continuing development of the multi-faceted competencies inherent in health services, covering wider domains of professionalism needed for high-quality professional performance. It denotes to the period of education and training of health professionals commencing after completion of basic or postgraduate health professional training.CPD aims to maintain and develop competencies of individual health professionals essential for meeting the changing needs of patients and the health service system and responding to the new challenges of emerging/re-emerging health problems and scientific development

 

EPHA’s CPD Update

So far EPHA has accredited and supporting eleven (11) CPD providers, developed six (6) public health short courses, reviewed and accredited 11 CPD courses (Nine face to face and two e-courses). Recently, as part of the CPD program modality, EPHA has also organized a webinar session on Practical leadership in Healthcare, Conflict management in leadership and “one health approach” in PH emergency preparedness and response, and addressed nearly 250 professional members. Since May 2024, EPHA has centered its head office at its new building, and is preparing the 5th and 6th floor, for full scale CPD program intervention, and developing required CPD infrastructure, including its digital learning platform and studio.
