EPHA

EPHA (Ethiopian Public Health Association) Center for Inclusive and sustainable Finance

was established in 1989 to enhance public health initiatives in Ethiopia. Founded by a group of health professionals, its primary aim was to improve the health status of the Ethiopian population through research, advocacy, and capacity building .In the 1990s, as Ethiopia underwent political and social changes, EPHA focused on strengthening health systems and promoting evidence-based policies. The association has also been pivotal in addressing public health emergencies, such as outbreaks of diseases like cholera and HIV/AIDS.

OUR VISION

To be a leading and dynamic organization that sets the benchmark for public health excellence in Ethiopia, actively contributing to the creation of a nation where every individual, regardless of geographic location or socioeconomic status, has equitable access to quality healthcare. We envision a healthier and more resilient society where the social determinants of health are addressed, health disparities are reduced, and public health professionals are empowered to tackle the challenges of tomorrow through innovation, research, and policy advocacy.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to actively improve the public health landscape in Ethiopia by serving as a trusted voice and advocate for health policy reform, promoting evidence-based interventions, and enhancing the professional capacity of public health practitioners. We are committed to advancing public health through rigorous research, which informs both national and local health strategies and policies, and by fostering a culture of learning and innovation within the public health sector. We strive to build the capacity of Ethiopia’s public health workforce, equipping professionals with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to address both present and future health challenges. By facilitating access to continuous professional development, we aim to promote excellence and leadership within the public health community.
