EPHA Conducts Chapters Consultative Meeting

Ethiopian Public Health Association /EPHA/ conducted chapters consultative meeting on updating the existing EPHA membersí registration and chapters guideline, besides Annual Plan implementation progress and challenges, from 27- 28 April 2017 at Babogaya Hotel, Bishoftu.

The meeting was officially opened by the welcoming speech of Dr. Fikreab Kebede, President of EPHA, who appreciated the unreserved effort of chapters and subchapter focal persons in executing their duties.

He further pronounced that both Chapters and Sub chapters are roots of EPHA who deserve prominence and protection.

Ato Semegnew Mengistu, Deputy Director of EPHA and Members affairs director, on his part, explained the significance of the meeting in view of creating better understanding among Secretariat, Chapters and Sub chapters on the workflow and implementation of planned activities.

Ato Yusuf Abdu, memberís affairs officer and W/ro Elizabeth Demeke, chapters affairs officer of EPHA presented on the need to review the existing membersí registration and chapters guideline and reporting terms for chapter office members respectively.

On the occasion, Ato Yilfashewa Zewdie, resource mobilization officer of EPHA made a detail presentation on the planned resource mobilization activities to be accomplished at chapter level.

The participants discussed on the guideline and other related issues thoroughly, so different ideas were raised. Accordingly, action points have also been taken.

A total of 31 regional Chapter and Sub-chapter office focal persons, EPHA Secretariat and Executive Board members attended the meeting.

CALL FOR ABSTRACT

For the 7th African Vaccination Week Celebration

The federal Ministry of Health in collaboration with its partners is organizing the 7th African Vaccination Week (AVW) from April 24 – 30, 2017.  The AVW is commemorated every year to renew global, regional, and national effort that accelerates communities’ awareness on demand creation and service utilization which enables to improve equitable vaccination coverage and quality service delivery. In this relation, this year the launching ceremony will be conducted at Oromoia Region Fiche Town under the theme “Vaccine protect everyone. Get Vaccinated”.  Therefore, FMoH assigned CCRDA/ECSHF to facilitate inviting forum members and researchers to submit abstracts of published researches and preliminary finding related to immunization dropout rate.
